Part-Time Maintenance & Transportation Director
Herman-Norcross Community School is seeking a dedicated and dependable individual to serve as our Part-Time Maintenance & Transportation Director.
Position Summary
The Maintenance & Transportation Director is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance, safety, and operation of school facilities and grounds while coordinating transportation services for the district. This position requires a valid school bus license (or the ability to obtain one) and includes driving activities as needed.
Hours
- Approximately 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Some evening and special event hours required
- Additional hours may be available during summer months and school breaks
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure learning environment
- Perform routine building and grounds maintenance
- Coordinate and oversee district transportation operations
- Drive school bus routes and activity trips as needed
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance for district vehicles
- Assist with event setup and facility preparation
- Respond to maintenance needs and emergencies as necessary
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and district policies
Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota School Bus Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements, or willingness to obtain
- Experience in building maintenance, custodial work, transportation, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed
