Estelle shares her experiences as a Receptionist at one of DC’s high powered law firm’s. Her duties are extensive and she takes great pride in being the first face and/or voice to welcome clients and prospects to the firm. Estelle studied Business Administration in college.

>> What made me choose this profession, I've been doing it now for maybe thirty years. I like people. I like being helpful [inaudible]. I can do background work, too, and I pretty much help the home workers if they need assistance administrative wise. I'm helpful with that area, too, but what made me really choose this position is because being in customer service, dealing with the outside public yourself when you have to go to DMV or any government, or any other thing that you have to take care of. People aren't always nice. >> I kind of feel like, I feel the old notion of service with a smile, I feel like that's long gone in most places. >> A lot of places it is, and I say you've got to do this a little bit better than this. So I said, you know what, let me try this [inaudible]. So I stayed in it for so long, and I really appreciate how people treat people because you want to treat somebody like you would like to be treated, and a lot of places you don't get that from. So that's kind of important to me, and to be in the front like that, it makes you change if you want to stay in this, you know, profession.
