Allen Parish Juniors and Seniors got to experience college life for a day at the SOWELA Oakdale Campus. Students enjoyed the “Flying Tigers for a Day” event where they toured different Career and Technical education paths Business, Nursing, Electrical, and Welding programs. Their last stop was to do a career assessment in the Perkins-funded Career Explorer mobile trailer. Here they completed a short assessment to find their aptitudes and explore possible career opportunities. They left with information about the Region 5 Career Explorer platform and directions on how to access other CTE resources.
