Job Description: Chief Marketing Officer
We’re looking for an ambitious and visionary person to become our first Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at The Difference App LLC (“The Difference”). Founded in 2021, The Difference is a fast-growing, New York-based digital health technology company that sells a predictive weight management app in the Apple App and Google Play Stores.
As the CMO, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of all marketing initiatives, the vast majority of these being in the digital media marketing spheres. This includes developing and incorporating comprehensive marketing strategies that align with our business and our desired growth trajectory.
Objectives of the CMO
Developing and implementing strategic go-to-market plans that align with the company’s business objectives.
Ensuring the marketing team delivers effective campaigns to generate leads, increase brand awareness, and drive sales growth.
Managing marketing budgets, allocating resources effectively, and optimizing marketing spending to achieve maximum Return on Investment (ROI) and Return on Advertisement Spend (ROAS).
Fostering relationships with key business partners, vendors, and media outlets to maximize marketing reach and impact.
Collaborating with different teams, including product development, sales, and operations to ensure a seamless alignment and the execution of marketing initiatives.
Leading and mentoring a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and support to drive excellence in marketing execution.
Acting as a brand ambassador, representing the company’s values and maintaining consistent brand identity across all touchpoints.
Duties of the CMO
Develop, articulate, and execute the overall marketing strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
Directly manage any subordinate employees or interns working on marketing-related work.
Drive brand positioning, differentiation, and brand equity to enhance market share and brand awareness.
Oversee the creation of captivating marketing collaterals, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, banners, merchandise, advertisements, press releases, and digital content.
Execute comprehensive marketing campaigns, including social media, web, email, print, television, radio, and in-person events.
Optimise multi-channel marketing efforts to reach target audiences effectively. These may include paid and organic search and paid social, influencers, content marketing, social media, traditional PR, and other channels.
Monitor and analyze our key performance indicators, market trends, consumer insights, data analytics, and activities to identify growth opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Curate pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the marketplace.
Lead strategic partnerships and collaborations with external agencies, vendors, and influencers to amplify brand reach and awareness.
Stay well-informed about the industry’s advancements and emerging marketing technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications of the CMO
Earning or has already earned, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or an equivalent field.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior marketing experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have a proven track record of developing, managing, and executing wide-ranging marketing campaigns across B2B and B2C verticals.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in scaling marketing operations and expanding into new markets.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop marketing professionals.
Exceptional story-telling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Effective teamwork to collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior executives, and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to leverage data and insights for informed decision-making.
Familiarity with marketing automation tools, customer relationship management (CRM) systems and analytics platforms.

This is an entirely remote-only, virtual position.
Wages are in a range as they will scale with a percentage of the company’s revenue.
