Estimator/ Office Engineer 3/27/24
Hub Foundation Co., Inc. specializes in deep foundation drilling. Founded in 1966, we are a family-owned and operated company with more than 130 employees. We offer expert design-build services for deep foundations from drilled shafts to drilled micropiles, tiebacks, secant piles, soil nails, slurry walls, and more on projects all over Boston and throughout New England.
We are seeking an engineer with a background in the civil or geotechnical field. This position entails conducting tasks associated with foundation design, construction, and overall project management. We prefer to hire an individual with experience in the geotechnical industry, especially with drilled micropiles or drilled shafts. However, we will consider an entry-level individual who is willing to dive into this industry. The position includes site-specific design and management but will largely consist of office work. We wish for candidates who are self starting, driven and are problem-solvers. Our heavy construction projects are ever-changing with many complex elements and issues to stay ahead of.
Job responsibilities:
- Estimating take-off for new projects bidding.
- Obtaining quotes for materials and materials tracking.
- CAD design for logistics plans, pile numbering plans, pile details, and crane pick plans.
- Drafting proposals and estimates going out to bid.
- Compiling and monitoring all necessary steps and documents for contracts including change orders.
- Creating and maintaining job schedules for multiple jobs.
- Participating in project meetings in the greater Boston area.
For this position an individual must be highly motivated and able to perform a variety of tasks. We prefer to hire a candidate who is well-rounded, driven, and can incorporate the following skills into their work:
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on time-management and the ability to manage multiple deadlines on congruent projects.
- Works well with others and is willing to learn and grow. Substantial motivation for training and expanding on skills is critical in this evolving industry.
- Strong communication skills and able to interface well within the company, with clients, and engineers.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong grasp of Excel and CAD.
This is a full-time position based out of our Chelmsford office with site locations throughout New England. Some local and regional travel is expected. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to diverse, challenging, and technically progressive projects. We offer a competitive salary and health benefits. Please send your resume and cover letter to maya.minkin@hubfoundation.com.
